Author Guidelines

General Information

Before preparing a manuscript, authors must identify the appropriate article type. Manuscripts should be prepared using the official journal template (download here) and must comply with the journal’s formatting, style, and ethical standards. Submissions that do not follow the template or author guidelines may be returned for correction prior to peer review.

All figures, tables, and supplementary materials must be prepared according to the journal’s technical requirements.

Journal Style and General Requirements

Author Listing
All authors must be listed using their full names. Institutional or professional affiliations must be clearly stated for each author. The corresponding author must be identified and full contact details provided.

Originality Statement
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original, has been written by the stated authors, and has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. If the manuscript is an extended version of a conference paper or working paper, this must be disclosed at submission.

Keywords
Authors must provide keywords on the title page. Keywords should reflect the main topics of the manuscript and support discoverability in indexing systems.

References
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all references. Citations must follow the Vancouver reference style and be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to internationally recognized standards. The use of reference management software (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley) is strongly recommended.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared using the journal template. Submissions should be written in Spanish or English. Articles submitted in Spanish will be sent for translation into English after publication.

Original research articles must include the following sections, clearly labeled:

Title
Abstract
Keywords
Introduction
Methods
Results
Discussion
Conclusions
Acknowledgments (if applicable)
Authors’ Contributions
Conflicts of Interest
Funding Statement
References
Tables and Figures

Other article types may require different structures, as described below.

Title Page

The title page must include:

Full article title
Author names and affiliations
Corresponding author contact details
Abstract and Length

Abstracts should not exceed 300 words unless otherwise specified.
Full manuscripts should not exceed 4,000 words unless stated differently for specific article types.

 

Article Types

Review Articles / Systematic Reviews / Meta-Analyses

Review articles provide a comprehensive and critical synthesis of the existing literature on a specific topic. They should emphasize conceptual development, methodological approaches, and research gaps.

Abstract: Structured or unstructured abstracts may be used and should summarize the scope, sources, key findings, and conclusions.

Full Text: The manuscript should include a clear description of the topic, methods used for literature selection, synthesis of findings, and conclusions.

Maximum limits: Tables or figures: up to 7; Word count: approximately 3,500–4,000 words

Original Articles

Original articles report empirical or theoretical research. The length of the manuscript must be justified by its content.

Abstract: Structured abstract including: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions.

Full Text: Required sections include: Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, References, Acknowledgments, Authors’ Contributions, Conflicts of Interest, Funding.

Maximum limits: Tables or figures: up to 6

Case Studies

Case studies describe and analyze one or more cases relevant to economics, digital business, or organizational contexts.

Abstract: Structured abstract including: Introduction, Case Description, Conclusions.

Full Text: Introduction, Case Description, Discussion, Conclusions.

Maximum limits: Tables or figures: up to 3

Brief Reports / Short Communications

Brief reports present concise but complete research findings or observations.

Abstract: Single-paragraph abstract not exceeding 250 words.

Full Text: Maximum 1,200 words, including Introduction, Methods, Combined Results and Discussion, Acknowledgments, Authors’ Contributions, Conflicts of Interest, References.

Maximum limits: Tables or figures: up to 2.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables must be cited in the text in numerical order. Each figure and table must include a clear title and explanatory caption. Figures must be submitted in high-resolution formats (JPEG, TIFF, EPS, or PDF). Tables should be editable and not embedded as images.

If figures or tables are reproduced from other sources, authors must obtain written permission from the copyright holder and provide proof at submission.

Copyright and Licensing

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right to publish and distribute the content.

Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation. If no conflicts exist, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”

Authorship Contributions

The contribution of each author must be described using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) taxonomy (https://credit.niso.org/). This taxonomy defines 14 standardized contributor roles that allow transparent recognition of each author’s participation in the research and publication process. Only the roles that are applicable to the specific article should be reported.

Authors are required to include an “Authorship Contributions” section at the end of the manuscript, listing each contributor under the role(s) they fulfilled. Roles should be presented regardless of the order of authorship, and roles that do not apply should be omitted.

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use

The use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted to improve language, readability, or data analysis, provided such use is transparently disclosed. Authors must declare the use of AI tools at the end of the manuscript, specifying how and for what purpose they were used. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content.

Example declaration:
“We acknowledge the use of [AI tool name] for [specific purpose].”
or
“No AI tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.”

Editors and reviewers do not upload unpublished manuscripts or related materials into generative AI tools.
